Our results showed that the similarity represented by the polymorphism of RAPD bands between the individuals from the two slopes of the Retezat Mountains is 67%. The cluster analysis (UPGMA) used to distinguish be- tween individuals showed that samples can not be clustered in different populations.
Despite of the small size of the population which generally exhibit lower levels of genetic diversity, our results based on the RAPD techniques showed that the genetic diversity of this critically endangered plant species is not low.
