Outside the context of wearable computing, the proposed
framework can record the motion of inorganic objects. For
example, it is common for drivers to mount their smartphones
on the dashboard for turn-by-turn navigation, music storage
and playback, etc. Sensing motion inside vehicles and streaming
inertial data, together with geolocation coordinates, can be
used for road and traffic condition monitoring [9] (e.g. pothole
detection), accident detection, etc.
