The argument of raising children in the countryside as opposed to a big city is an enduring one. While some people believe that it is more healthy to taxies children in the countryside, others believe that it is more prudence to raise children in big cities so that they learn the ways of the city. In my opinion, children are better off being raised in big cities as opposed to the countryside.
The primary reason for my opinion is that a big city has many more facilities than the countryside. A big city has modern medical facilities to cater to every kind of accident or fatality. In contrast, the countryside mostly has only a regional hospital that serves the entire area. That regional hospital is usually packed with people, and it is often difficult to get a doctor’s appointment there. In big cities, there are many hospitals – private included- and that makes it very easy to get a doctor’s appointment.
Also, big cities have better educational facilities as compared to the countryside. In big cities, people have access to excellent schools while in the countryside, the schools are not very good. In countries like Pakistan, the gap between the quality of education in country and city schools is particularly wide. Children educated i big cities ere much more intelligent and responsive than children educated in the countryside.
Living in big cities also prepares children for their adult life. Big cities are full of new experiences, and these help the children face their adult life. Life in the countryside is very rustic and beautiful, but it doesn’t do much to prepare children for what’s out there. The basic idea of educating children is to help them take on their adult lives with confidence, and living in big cities definitely helps with that.
Thus, looking at the arguments made above, it is clear that life in big cities is better for children as compared to life in the countryside. Children stand a better chance of succeeding in their adult lives if they have a proper learning experience while living in big cities. The countryside might prepare them for agricultural work, but big cities actually offer them a chance at success.
