Seven of the eight microalgal diets assessed in this study were
ingested by early to late auricularia stage sandfish larvae (Table 3).
The exception was the microalgae concentrate 3H 1800® which was
not ingested by larvae of any of the three ages tested (Table 3). There
was a highly significant difference between the different larval diets in
terms of larval stomach fullness after 1 h of feeding (Kruskal–Wallis,
χ2 (6) = 209, p b 0.050) for each of the three auricularia ages.
The amount of TISO ingested by D2 larvae was significantly greater
than that of Isochrysis 1800® and C. muelleri but lower than that of
