Pressurization experiments were performed in a cylindrical
compression chamber (28.2 mm inner diameter and 88 mm outer
diameter, 200 mm depth, alloy steel AISI 4340) with an inner
spherical shaped cover and bottom (137 mL total volume) that was
equipped with a pressure gauge to monitor the chamber pressure,
which was submerged in a thermostatic bath supplied by a
Refrigerated/Heating circulator F38-EH (Julabo, Germany) for control
of the temperature. A type K thermocouple (NiCr/NiAl) was
fitted in the cylinder cover for temperature detection on the
external surface of the sample bag.
