Alex,
From Dennis’s email below. If we are about to change to the A2000 powder there is a change in process to be done on windows based on the Akzo report attached. We have been told the D2000 powder is the same as the A2000.
The results suggest to use the 3M primer 94, before gluing with no scuffing on frames.
Can you please run a trial again and do some wedge testing on side window frames, at 3 days and after 7 days. We are looking for the adhesive to split within itself leaving residue on glass and the frame and or bending of the frame. If the glass breaks this is also good.
It would be a good idea to also trial the same on aluminium lift up window panels in Millennium Grey.
Upon your results we will go through the SOPs and update them.
The results from the original current powder MN117”A” now “G” would suggest to continue with scuffing and cleaning, therefore we have a risk and suggest that the change in powder is handled more carefully and breakpointed to the new powder so you know when new powder is coming through. Perhaps it would be worthwhile putting a stick dot on powdered frames at the new level to control this in production until all old ones are gone?
Regards,
