To Hua-yan, dharmas or things of the world are just products of our mind.
There are ultimately no objects and no motion in the world, but only what our mind thinks. Nothing exists independently of us.
Because of this thinking, everything from our mind, we can describe Hua-yan as a form of idealism rather than realism (everything is due to our thoughts, not external reality).
