Phraya Chaiyabun Memorial
Phraya Chaiyabun Memorial Phraya Chaiyabun Memorial was constructed for his heroic deeds and sacrifices for the unification of Thailand. He was the governor of the town during 1897-1902, in which he was slain by rebelling Shan tribesmen when he refused to surrender the town to them. After the rebellion was put down by government troops, King Rama V ordered a memorial erected in his honour.
