depending on the definition of injury, the characteristics
of the players studied, and the research design.26
The FIFA Medical and Research Centre (F-MARC) established
a consensus document for epidemiological investigations
in soccer based on the opinion of experts involved in
the study of soccer injuries.15 This document indicates procedures
for injury data collection and includes a clear definition
of injuries and criteria for their classification in
terms of location, type, diagnosis, and causation.
