BURDEN AMONG CAREGIVERS
The mean combined caregiver burden score was
12.5 ± 8.7. We divided primary caregivers into two
groups: “high-burden caregivers” were defined as
those with scores greater than or equal to the mean;
“low-burden caregivers” were defined as those with
scores less than the mean. Figure 2 compares the
mean HRQOL scores of high-burden and low-burden
caregivers. High-burden caregivers had significantly
lower scores for physical health, social functioning,
vitality, general health, and mental health.
