Despite the number of pregnancies for females ages 15 to 19 reaching a record low in the U.S. in 2011, 329,797 teenage girls still got pregnant in 2011, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Furthermore, for women younger than 19 years of age, four out of five pregnancies were unintended, according to a 2006 study reported by the CDC. Aside from the obvious dilemma a teenage girl faces raising a child when she's still a child herself, many pregnant teens face social isolation and other social problems that can have a major effect on her psychological health and mental well-being.
