In fact the dental implants are subjected to fatigue loading, but in
most research reported to date, axially applied static loads have
been assumed instead of the more realistic dynamic–cyclic loads directed
at the occlusal angle encountered in the mandibular bone
during mastication of food [21]. In order to define the boundary conditions,
three loads in the coronal–apical direction, lingual–buccal
direction and mesial–distal direction define a 3D coordinate system.
