Procedures. The following hypotheses were tested: (1) Kindergarten and first grade students who scored 132 and above on the S-BIS, and thus qualified for the California Mentally Gifted Minor Program, when post tested with the same instrument under similar testing conditions at the fifth grade level, would no longer achieve in the gifted range. (2) The students, when post tested at the fifth grade level, would obtain a score which was lower than when previously tested at the kindergarten and first grade level on the Vocabulary and Verbal Fluency, and Memory and Concentration dimensions of the S-BIS, under study. (3) The students' results in the General Comprehension and Judgment and Reasoning dimensions of the S-BIS, would show no significant change when post tested at the fifth grade level.
