The diagnostic value of radiography was affected by the sample size and type of patients. In this regard, the sen-sitivity and specificity of chest radiography was found to be higher in studies with sample sizes of greater than 100 patients while both of these measures were calcu-lated to be lower in critically ill patients (Table 2).
