4. Prey-dependence of temporal pattern
The pre-capture predation on the semi-slug was 3.3 times as long as that on the snail
(p < 0.001) (Table 4). There was no difference between time lengths from fixing of the eyes to striking at the snail and to averting the eyes from the slug, although the latter was not necessarily approached (p=0.33). On the other hand, the snake finished feeding on the semi-slug’s body after strike 13 time as fast as feeding on the snail’s body (p
