The basic of the case university management systems include; common strategic and operative objectives; well defined roles and responsibilities of key actors and bodies; an appropriate rewarding system that rewards results in line with the objectives; common management and operative planning processes; common tools that support resource planning, follow up, reporting, evaluation and prediction; as well as activities to continuously assess and develop operations. The management system –document well defines the roles and responsibilities off the actors and bodies that work at the university level (university board and collegiate, rectors, management group and councils). Principles of operation management –document together with the case university’s guiding principle are creating the guidelines for operations. Operation process is following so called “year clock” that defines the key operational planning and reporting activities during the year.
