You cannot successfully install personnel sensors in a broadcast manner, as you might install high-efficiency lamps or ballasts. Analyze each activity area to decide whether personnel sensors are satisfactory for that environment. In locations where they are appropriate, figure out the best places to install them. If necessary, combine personnel sensor control with other methods of control.
Expect to spend a lot of time and effort on this. For example, in a complex facility, such as a hospital or hotel, you may need three or four different types of personnel sensors to deal properly with all the conditions that exist, along with many mounting configurations.
You need to select the location of each sensor carefully. Installing personnel sensors carelessly or in the wrong applications can waste energy, annoy occupants, and create safety hazards.
