Developing Your Visualization Program
- Assess visualization skills: Establish athletes areas of strength and weakness in visualization.
- Establish Realistic Expectation: Visualization can improve performance but won’t make an average athlete into a superstar. Visualization can’t fix everything, make sure the athlete know what can or can’t be help through visualization.
- Relaxed Concentration: Visualization appears to be most effective when preceded by a relaxed state. Use progressive relaxation exercise on page 4 of Olympian Secrets e-book to establish relaxed concentration.
- Sufficient Motivation: Perform it systematically over time. A sense of commitment is critical.
