The CaCl2 (1.3 g per fruit) fruit spray treatment produced 80% good fruits with no black heart symptoms and the highest total calcium levels compared to all other treatments after storage at 10°C for 17 days followed by 2 days ambient storage.
Fruits from the CaCl2 (2 g per fruit) produced 45% good fruits. Soil applications of CaO and CaSO4 were less effective with less than 30% good fruits (Fig. 2).
