Loy Krathong is a magical festival in Thailand which takes place on a full moon nigh in November. At this time of year, the weather is fine as the rainy season is over and there is a high water level all over the country. Loy means “ to float” and a krathong is a lotus – shaped decorated vessel, which can float on the water. The krathong is made of banana leaves and banana tree – trunk. A krathong contains flowers, joss sticks, candles and coins.
