In consideration of the historic reasons for failure, it is proposed that an automatic back-flushing system is installed in the sample line. This would effectively keep the sample tube (Inside the filling tube assembly) clean by flushing it with nitrogen in the reverse direction, while the sample tube is not drawing a sample into the analyzer. To do this, a 3-way solenoid valve would be installed in the sample just before the analyzer. The solenoid would be operated from the internal logic of the analyzer to ensure proper timing.
To arrest the particulates, it is proposed to install 2 disposable 25 mm PTFE filters at the inlet port of the analyzer in series; one filter of 0.2 microns and one of 0.5 microns. These could be replaced as necessary depending on actual experience (Once per month). The integral flow meter would indicate filters starting to block. It normally indicates 1.5 Liters/min at mid scale.
