This is the second time in 12 months I have stayed in this hotel. Within this time-frame I have also stayed at one other so-called 5* hotel in Bangkok; believe me I wont be staying anywhere else in the future. The Vie Hotel is located directly next to the BTS skytrain station (Ratchatewi) and benefits from easy access by taxi and/or Tuk Tuk; whilst still retaining close proximity to the shopping centres such as MBK etc. Most other city centre hotels are hindered by one or other of the perennially grid-locked streets.
The hotel is owned by the European Accor Group and as such is designed to a fantastic standard very contemporary. However I would advise a word of caution to the hotel, in that I stayed previously in this hotel about 12 months earlier and a few noticeable 'wear and tear' items are beginning to appear; suggesting a 'cyclical maintenance/decoration' package may be needed in about 12 months time in order that the current high standards are maintained.
Food is great, breakfast has a vast choice of produce both far eastern food and western food catered for, pool is small but adequate and well run; I will certainly be returning and would advise anybody else to do the same particularly if its your first time in Bangkok - a safe bet.
