In the third phase, peer leaders under the guidance
of student nurses, nurse faculty, and their teacher
implemented the peer education program to ninthgrade
students. Three classes of the ninth-grade
students were in the intervention group and received
a modified version of the TAP program from peer
leaders who were trained in the TAP program. The
other three classes of ninth-grade students were in the
control group and received the traditional HIV/AIDS
education offered in the school health program.
