Guided Experimentation Tools
The experimental environment consisted of the following:
objects for temperature measurement (bottles of water, paper
cups of hot chocolate, and cans of juice), two small fish bowls
filled with room temperature water, a handheld computer, a
temperature sensor probe, and a laboratory notebook.
The handheld computer was connected to a sensor
interface and temperature sensor probe. This setup provided
real-time data collection capability to the students.
After a brief demonstration, participants were able to
operate this system independently of the experimenter.
Each participant received their own handheld computer to
use during the guided experimentation activities.
