Thank you for your message again.....
you are practicing vipassana in everyday life....this is so good....
and when we look or worship the statue of the Buddha we should remember his 10 paramittas (perfect qualitys in 100% perfection ) and try to develope them in us...not the statue itself......
my experience was that some people ( my ex girlfriend ) worship the statue without understanding the paramittas and because they dont understand them they cannot develope them in themselfes.....so they worship the statue chant for hours and pray a lot best in front of many other people to increase their social statue in their own peer group...
this way the opposite is achieved the ego grow not disapear.....
anyway at first I did not understand and thought how good this person is ...but when I experienced the outcome of her actions I woke up and questioned eveything...
from that moment on I became sceptical when I see the worshippers.....
for myself I keep a Buddhastatue and some pictures...but Vipassana is the main practice not only at meditation time all day long...
Goenkaji teach us to observe the body sensations because they are linked to every mental state that arises ...anger as well as pleasant states...it always shows up immmediately on the body sensations...when we learn to observe them objectivly ( because we see how they arise and pass substanceless ) we detach from them and anger only arise very short and very weak...this way we weaken the kilesas....
I am happy that I found you....
