The purpose of this study was to examine breast cancer prevention knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors among college women and mother–daughter communication. This study is one of the first studies to examine breast cancer prevention for college women and mother’s breast cancer prevention advice. The important contributions of this study suggest few college women receive limited breast cancer prevention information from their mothers. Furthermore, the findings suggest mother’s advice as a strong predictor of BSE practice and the important role of mothers to help daughters learn about early detection and breast cancer prevention.
