The vault and much of the interior remain of the original structure although a considerable restoration has occurred at various times. The granite and porphyry pavement was restored in the nineteenth century. The circular wall was at first faced with pilasters. The entrance forms one of eight arched recesses, the other seven probably being used for statues of gods.
