The 1998 Lisbon International Exhibition - Expo'98 - will be the last great world exhibition of the 20th century. It will take place in Lisbon (Portugal). It will be officially inaugurated on 22 May 1998 and last for a period of around 5 months.
The central theme of Expo'98 is The Oceans, a heritage for the future. The objective is to enhance the knowledge of and the resources provided by the oceans. It is expected that it will further raise the international communities' awareness of the importance of this natural heritage and indeed the responsibility to preserve it for the coming generations.
