The scintigraphic studies used included resting 99mTc-pyrophosphate (PYP) single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) on the third day, and resting 99mTc-MIBI SPECT on the sixth day after admission. All scintigraphic studies were performed after a 12-h overnight fast in the absence of antianginal medication.
All patients provided informed consent in accordance with the guidelines set by our hospital’ s human clinical study committee.
99mTc-PYP SPECT. Each patient received 740 MBq of 99mTc-PYP intravenously. All patients underwent myocardial imaging 2 h later.
99mTc-MIBI SPECT. The 99mTc-MIBI was obtained commercially (Nihon MediPhysics, Chiba, Japan). The patients received an intravenous injection of 740 MBq of 99mTc-MIBI while sitting upright. Gated SPECT images were acquired 30 min after injection. The RR interval was divided into 16 subintervals for gated SPECT acquisition.
