Results of this Study indicate that juvenile cobia , at an initial size of 6-7 g can be reared successfully at salinities ranging from 5 of 30 ppt. juvenile cobia reared at lower salinities may require a highly bioavailable source of minerals supplied in the feed but this study shows that given the proper conditions they can grow very quickly with a high feed efficiency. We propose that the combination of chelated mineral supplements and complete vitamin mixture included in the diet are significant in the production of juvenile cobia at low salinities. Future work on this species at low salinities should take this into account until an exact requirement can be identified for these fish.
