Thank you for this email – and my sincere apologies for the delay in replying, due to my very busy week in Guam, after my Melbourne and Sydney trips! I am looking forward to five days at home before heading off again to Canada.
Thank you for clarifying the response from STOU regarding my proposed travel plans to Thailand at the end of August. If I understand correctly, as the cost of the itinerary is within the budget agreed with the grant office, it is acceptable for me to book the flights as I proposed – so Brisbane-Sydney-Bangkok-Sydney-Brisbane. If this is the case, I will make the flight bookings while I am in Brisbane next week. It is easier to do this while in Australia.
I will let you have full details of the travel arrangements, with an invoice for the costs, with the reimbursement handled personally during my visit to STOU.
Thank you for the information about the “academic activity for PhD students” on 31 August. Once I am home, I will get back in touch with you to discuss this further. It’s not easy to put together a full day program – that is very demanding – so we need to explore the ideas you already have. Please remember that I will have very little time to plan and prepare, as I will be travelling from 9 July until just a couple of days before the visit to Thailand. I will only have about two full days in Brisbane. The program must therefore be fairly easy to run. Let’s discuss this next week – I hope you will have time.
