Results obtained from HPLC analysis showed that both the
pathogens on rice produced a similar trend for DON
production whilst DON was not detected on wheat haulms.
DON production by F. graminearum and F. culmorum
inoculated alone was time dependent and ranged between
151.04 and 28.82 mg kg21
, and 22.05 and 5.32 mg kg21
,
respectively. When in the presence of T. gamsii 6085, the
maximum amount of DON was reduced to less then
5 p.p.m. (F. graminearum) and to less than 2 p.p.m. (F.
culmorum) (Table 3).
