if jamie would have refused it, it would've taken even longer for the film to be released. Don't be so sure they would've found one. Coming from someone who knows what they're talking about. Plenty of films get cancelled and maybe picked up again, but it takes years. Flowers in the Attic for example. The first film was horrible and wasn't successful in the slightest. The actors were prepared for the sequel but literally never heard anything again about it. And the movies were finally made almost 30 years later and not even as a feature film but as a television movie. So you can't really say they wouldn't have found someone since they were desperate. Yeah they probably would have. But if it took too long the studio would've dropped it. And then they'd have to start all over again with pre-production and finding a financial support and when a movie is dropped. It's even harder to get it back on again, because it doesn't look good when a movie fails before even filming. So again, you may be right, but you also may be wrong. They'd probably have to hire a desperate fool whom is willing to take even less than $200,000 just to get a part.
