Because of nitrite concentration being directly proportional
to the peak area the latter was also considered to be an
important parameter for the quantification of nitrite. On
similar criteria as discussed above, the full range of concentration
(0.025–5 μg NO2
−
/ 0.1 g KBr) were plotted against the
respective peak areas. The concentration versus peak area
plots also show straight line (CNO2
− = 1.50 Ap + 0.07; here Ap is
the area under the peak value) with excellent correlation
coefficient value of 0.999. The slope and the intercept value
for the st. line equation were 0.6661 and 0.0447 respectively.
