Kanwar and Guleri [8] compared Chinese fixed dome and plastic
tubular digesters (without greenhouse) implemented in India at an
altitude of 1300 m.a.s.l. In the plastic tubular model, the biogas
production rate dropped by 70% during winter months as
compared to summer months; while in the fixed dome model the
biogas production rate decreased by only 16%. Due to the lack of
insulation, in the plastic tubular digester there was a wide temperature
fluctuation, which reduced the average temperature of the
system. As a result, the biogas production ratewas about 30% lower
in the plastic tubular model than in the fixed dome model.
