3.3. Poly( p-methacryloyloxy benzoic acid)
The thermal behavior of this polymer is more complex than
those exhibited by aliphatic polymethacrylates that contain carboxylic
groups. Indeed, it can be seen from Fig. 2c that thermal
decomposition curve of PMBeA shows three weight loss regions;
this observation is in agreement with the results obtained
by San Roma´n et al. [23], who studied the thermal degradation
of poly(o-methacryloyloxy benzoic acid) and obtained three
decomposition stages during its thermal degradation.
