“I am not sure our selection of projects told us
as much as it could have. Bad project selection
skews your results in both ways. If the pilot
was too small, it led the teams to conclude the
overhead is too large and we can’t be successful,
we won’t have savings. We had other projects
that were not complex that lead us to believe,
offshore is wonderful, it’s wildly successful.
But we didn’t really test the supplier’s capabilities.
Neither view is correct.
