Job satisfaction: An evaluative judgment about
the degr ee of pleasure an employee derives from
his/her job that consists of both affective and
cognitive components (14). Registered staff
nurses’ job satisfaction is a dependent variable
with components of: A) the intrinsic component of
job satisfaction which is dependent on personal
perception and internal feeling and includes
factors such as recognition, advancement, and
responsibility and B) the extrinsic components
which are external job related variables that would
include salary, supervision, and working
conditions (15).
