The model was used in order to investigate possible evolutions of the local energy context. A first focus was given to the cost of the rice husk. Currently such a biomass is an agri-waste without any value. Farmers are used to burn it just to dispose it. Thus, it is easy to have it for free. In fact, if a technology such as the one proposed
is introduced in the local context, the rice husk is likely to assume a certain value on the local market. Fig. 5 shows how the convenience in the use of rice husk as alternative domestic fuel with the technology proposed is economically sustainable until rice husk price sets at 10–15 CFA francs/kg. The trade-off threshold is at 22 CFA francs/kg. A price of 30 CFA francs/kg, that is similar to the current one of wood, would be absolutely not convenient, as it would increase the household total energy expenditure.
