Indonesia's Archipelago The world's fourth-largest country in terms of human number is also the globe's most expensive archipelago. Spread across a chain of more than 17,000 islands, Indonesia's more than 230 million people live both separated and clustered----separated by water and clustered on islands large and smell. Five large island dominate the archipelago territorially, but one of these, New Guinea in the east, is not part of the Indonesian culture sphere, although its western
