Meta-cognitive strategies seem to play an important role in problem solving situations like gaming. Game players need to plan, check the initial plan, and choose other strategies if the original plan fails. Quite often, meta-cognitive strategies are applied to problem solving. In
other words, students can enhance their problem solving abilities by using meta-cognition and applying meta-cognitive strategies. Lin (2001) said that practicing meta-cognitive strategies would help students improve their problem solving abilities. This implies that achievements in gaming and learning are affected by players’ meta-cognitive strategies.
