Intention-to-treat analysis was used because of sample loss.
Intention to treat is a strategy for the analysis of RCT that compares
patients in the groups to which they were originally randomly
assigned. This is generally interpreted as including all
patients, regardless of the actual satisfaction of the entry criteria,
actual receipt of the treatment, and subsequent withdrawal or
deviation from the protocol. Individuals who had withdrawn
from the research should be kept track of in order to keep the
data loss at minimum (Hollis & Campbell 1999). Therefore, all
nurses who had participated in the randomization were tracked
and analyzed. The nurses who left the company and the nurses
who did not volunteer to complete the questionnaire were not
tracked and analyzed. All analyses were conducted on an
intention-to-treat basis (Fig. 2).
