Students’ attitude form
The questionnaire was designed to obtain information on the third year certificate vocational students’ attitude towards role play activities used in the classroom and there were collected after the end of process. The questionnaire consisted of 10 items of Likert-type five rating scales.
Focus group interviews
Participants who are selected have certain characteristics in common that relate to the topic by interviewing then the scores must be collected after the end of process.
Data collection
The study conducted on semester 2, academic year 2014. The data collected in this study consisted of the scores of the pre-test and post-test. The students took a pre-test before using role play activities. Then role play activities were used in teaching the speaking ability, step by step making use of the constructed lesson plans. The English speaking performance test was collected before and after using role play activities. A teacher’ s observation form observes students every hour and a students’ attitude form and focus group interviews were collected after the end of process. The duration of the implementation was 6 weeks excluding the pre-test and post-test.
