For the extraction of residual oil from the olive cakes, 250 mL of
hexane was added to 100 g of the pomace. The mixture was homogenized
with a T50 Ultraturrax for 1 min at 44×g for 10 min at 20 °C
and then filtered with filter paper (Whatman no. 1). The extraction
was performed in duplicate. The filtered homogenate was evaporated
under vacuum in a nitrogen flow at 35 °C.
