Definitions and Acronyms
The following words and acronyms appearing in capital letters in EXHIBIT A and its annexes
and or the other EXHIBITS shall have the meaning assigned to them below. Expressions
appearing in lowercase letters shall have their common meaning as the context requires.
ALARP means As Low As Reasonably Practicable, and is the principle whereby the residual risk
related to an activity shall be reduced to as low as reasonably practicable.
CA means an independent Certification Authority.
DIVING SPREAD means all equipment and consumables, including safety related equipment,
required to safely operate a subsea diving operation at the relevant water depth(s) required.
Remote Operated Vehicles (ROV) are also included under this expression.
ESHIA means Environmental, Social and Health Impact Assessment.
EPCI means Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Onshore Pre-commissioning, Onshore
Commissioning and Installation.
GTI means Geotechnical Investigations.
MWS means Marine Warranty Surveyor.
NDT means Non Destructive Testing of any type necessary for the execution of the WORK.
OREDA means Offshore Reliability Data.
PEGS means PTTEP Engineering General Specification.
PMA means Primary Muster Area.
PTR means Project Technical Reviews carried out by COMPANY in accordance with Annex 2
of this EXHIBIT A.
RAM means Reliability, Availability and Maintainability.
ROS means Required on WORKSITE and is the date by which materials and equipment must
arrive at the WORKSITES to meet the requirements of the WORK TIME SCHEDULE.
SCE means Safety Critical Element.
SIMOPS means simultaneous construction, drilling, well services and production operations
which may occur and which may require special preparation or precaution.
SPIR means Spare Parts and Interchange ability Record.
Subsystem means a subdivision of a System which may, for convenience, be commissioned and
operated independently of the “System”.
System means a loop or part of the PLANT which is capable of functioning independently or
with the aid of temporary facilities. A System includes all the various equipment that allows it to
so function.
