PIN Verification FAQ
What is a PIN?
A PIN (Personal Identification Number) is provided to you during the Amazon Associates registration process. When you reach the PIN verification point in the registration process, we'll call you and ask you to verify your PIN via an automated system.
Why do I have to complete a PIN verification process?
The PIN verification process is part of our account verification system. When you reach the PIN verification point of the registration process, we will contact you at the phone number provided in your application. We will then ask you to verify your PIN using our automated system.
Do I have to have a land line to complete this process, or can I use a cell phone?
You can use any phone line where you will be able to receive incoming phone calls and enter a PIN either with your touchtone keypad or by saying the PIN.
Why didn't I receive a phone call?
Usually this will occur if your phone line is busy or congested. Also, some phone call screening services may block our call; if you have subscribed to a call screening or anonymous call blocking service through your telephone company, you may need to temporarily disable this feature to receive the PIN verification phone call.
If you are using a dial-up service, make sure your connection to the internet is closed within one minute of setting up the phone call. Be sure you check the box marked "I need to disconnect from the Internet before I can receive a phone call" so the call will not be initiated immediately.
It's also possible there could be a typo in the phone number as it was entered during the registration process. Log out of your Amazon.com account and log into https://affiliate-program.amazon.com to go back to the registration process and verify that the phone number entered is correct.
In any case, if you did not receive a call and would like to request another call, please return to the registration process to try again.
What do I do if I was using my phone line when the call came in?
Your phone line will need to be free in order for us to make the PIN verification phone call. Hang up your phone, or disconnect from the Internet, log out of your Amazon.com account, and then click here to sign back into the registration system to continue.
Why isn't the system recognizing my PIN when I enter it?
If you are saying the PIN rather than entering the PIN using your touchtone keypad, be sure to speak clearly and slowly. Also, try entering the PIN using the keypad on your phone.
If you are using your touchtone keypad, and your entry is not successful, it is possible that the phone you are using is not generating the appropriate touchtone codes. If the PIN you enter is not recognized after multiple attempts, try speaking each number of the PIN individually.

Why can't I get to the next step of the registration process now that my PIN has been verified?
Usually this indicates your browser has lost track of where you were in the registration process. You can click here to sign back into the registration system to continue.
I closed my browser; how do I get to the next step of the verification process?
After opening a new browser, go to Amazon.com and make sure you're logged out of your account. Then, click here to sign back into the registration process.
Can I use an international phone number to complete the PIN process?
Yes, as long as you use your local phone number and country code for one of the countries supported by Amazon when completing the PIN verification process.
