The bio-oil from this system was fractionated using the method described in (Scholze and Meier
2001), outlined in Figure 65.The process is very similar to the method by (Ba, Chaala et al. 2004), except for
the much shorter period of WSF washing (4 as opposed to 14 hours). Other than following the conditions
used in (Scholze and Meier 2001), the bio-oil-to-water ratio in this experiment was also varied to 1:5, 1:10,
1:15 and 1:20 by volume.
