Training
The battle and training process in "Pendulum X" is conducted when you shake the device. The game device will first tell you how many shakes were made, and then will use this information to generate a random number from one to seven. The Digimon you are currently using will fire a total of five shots, with the process being repeated if the battle or training hasn't been settle after the five shots. The random number effects how powerful the shot will be, with one and two being the weakest and seven being the strongest. As the battle and training modes use identical methods, the training is useful to perfect battle skills.Doing Active Quests
As well as the mock battle training, there is also the option of doing quest training with a chosen Digimon. In this mode, you use a Digimon to battle opponents in a tournament-style map. The number of losses and victories are counted, so you don't have to worry about sudden death and the complete avoidance of mistakes. This mode is useful for gaining experience for Digimon.Active Training Methods
The training methods needed to make Digimon evolve are quite varied. When a Digimon is ready to evolve, it changes into a completely different Digimon, with greater statistics such as strength, damage potential and total health. Some evolutions need active training methods. For example, you are only able to get a Mammon if you are in possession of either a Hanumon or a Garurumon. Both of these Digimon must be care for constantly, trained just as frequently and be used in a number of winning battles. After these conditions have been met, a Mammon will be created after a couple of days.Negative Training
Other Digimon either evolve automatically, with negative training or with minimal intervention. For example, the Digimon Babumon evolves into Motimon automatically after between 12 and 24 hours after hatching. You will have a few options once a Motimon has been created. Taking care of Motimon but not training it will create a Tentomon; not taking care of Motimon will generate an Otamamon. Other Digimon will evolve differently trained but not cared for, such as Togemon, which is evolved from Piyomon.
