2.3. Antimicrobial activity
Different methods were used on all the isolates in order to
assess their susceptibility to the hibiscus extract. Minimum
inhibitory concentrations (MICs), minimum bactericidal
concentrations (MBCs) and time-kill curves were determined
according to Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute
(CLSI) guidelines. All susceptibility testing were performed
using Mueller–Hinton broth and stock solutions were
prepared in accordance with CLSI guidelines[18]. A solvent
control containing the highest concentration of solvent
present was also run.
