The international festival of photojournalism-Visa pour l’Image-just took place in Perpignan, France. This festival exhibited the work of 3,000 photojournalists, showing their photographs through 26 different exhibitions across the city. All images in the running for prizes were captured over the years and feature images that touch on the heartbreaking news, as well as the more celebratory stories around the world.
This year’s Arthus-Bertrand Visa d’or News Award winner was Tyler Hicks. His photograph was an eye-opening look into the Nairobi, Kenya mall massacre. It depicts a mother sheltering her young children from gunfire.
